Joachim Heimbrock, Violins

Conductor of Domorchester Braunschweig (D)

Joachim Heimbrock studied violin with Professor V. Gradow and Professor A. Mondeau at Essen’s Folkwang Hochschule in western Germany.

Early engagements in Krefeld and Duisburg led him to becoming Staatstheater Braunschweig’s concert master, a position he held for 43 years, making the Staatsorchester his artistic home.

A particular highlight during that time was also his participation in the famed Bayreuther Festpielorchster between 1979 and 1985.

Notable engagements in the field of chamber music have been just as much a part of his career as his growing interest in the education of talented young musicians, whom he has been coaching in Detmold, Rostock, Berlin, Hamburg and Braunschweig for 15 years now, successfully training his students and preparing them for their auditions. Thus far, his students have joined renowned orchestras in Germany, Spain and Argentina.

Joachim Heimbrock is a sought after coach for string ensembles as well as orchestras, such as the Junge norddeutsche Philharmonie, the Philharmonisches Jugendorchester Berlin, the Deutsches Ärzteorchester and the Hochschulorchester Detmold.

In 2011 he became the conductor of the Domorchester Braunschweig, a position he has been holding since, continually adding to the Orchestra’s repertoire with regular concerts.
